I feel so fortunate having grown up during the formative years of Rock and Roll. I was inundated with the greatest music. It seemed that on a weekly basis new music was coming along that was literally mind blowing. From the west coast, Beach Boys, Jan and Dean, Mamas and the Papas and let’s not forget Dick Dale; being a surfer they spoke to me in a visceral way. Then the English music explosion just floored me and opened my eyes further…The Beatles, Stones, Kinks, The Who, Ten Years After, Vanilla Fudge, Moody Blues, Spencer Davis Group, Yardbirds, Animals, Fleetwood Mac and on and on…WOW. American influence bands, Steve Miller, Grand Funk, Santana, John Mayal, Bob Dylan, Quicksilver, The Birds, Leo Kottke, Jimmy Hendrix to mention a few. The blues infusion was notable and introduced my generation to a wonderful art form. And, it kept building…the volume got turned up…Jimmy Cliff, Bob Marley, Blind Faith, Cream, Traffic, Led Zeppelin, Jethro Tull, Eagles, Frank Zappa, Dire Straits, Boston, Allman Brothers Pink Floyd, Crosby Stills, Nash and Young, Deep Purple, Queen, Foreigner, Doobie Brothers, Neil Young, Credence, Yes, Chicago, Rush, Sex Pistols and on and on. These are just the ones that come to mind, I know I have left out many more…that’s the point, the scene was fluid and really memorable. If you are from my generation you know and even if you are not you still know…and if you don’t you fall into that dreadful but frequent category of people…those that don’t know that they don’t know. Well, I am glad that I was around to experience this remarkable time for music…is that so wrong….what say you….

Ya know…it is really great seeing folks you haven’t seen forever. There are people in our lives that have, in part made us who we are; they are part of the story. Does not matter how long the paragraph of the relationship might be…some are more substantial than others but people whom you spend time with and share common experieces have value. A couple of days ago I met two people from my past, it was great, the meeting brought back really cool memories. As well, it got me thinking about other olde friends whom I have not seen in eons, most still with us others not. I wonder as I get longer in the tooth, am I looking to go back to my youth to share these experience over again….I think not, the are part of journey. However, my road has been interesting and without these olde friends it would have pretty dull; so I raise a cheer for making my life have value…Cheers Mates…Let’s hook back up and create more history.

Hello blogosphere. My name is Ted Chapin.

Well well well! Here is my first blog. T-shirts, t-shirts, t-shirts. In the end this is what we do to make a living. Blogs I have read from other screen printing companies are basically for technical weenies; not to say this is a bad thing, but it does get boring. So I have decided to enter the blogosphere in a different way compared with my contemporaries. At the very least, it will be great therapy. So here it goes…

I’m not really sure exactly what a blog is. I think I know… but then again does anybody really know? You got your blog, your tweets, your facebook, and myspace. I’m not sure what all this stuff means. But I’m pretty sure in the end that it dilutes the human experience. Virtual friendships are something that is really NOW. I mean does everybody really need this much information about us; especially when so many of these people in this virtual world that are supposed to be friends, may not in fact be real friends – like in the old days. You know, it gives me pause for thought, if I was a conspiracy freak I might think that the NSA came up with this masterful plan to keep an eye on everyone; kind of like the church because after all, many of these blogs and comments on the social network sites seem to be a confessional. Is this the new religion? Hard tellin’ not knowin’.

What says you?????
